Overview

Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative is seeking to fill the position of Staking Engineer. Position will be based in Milford, CA.

Primary duties include analyzing aerial and underground requests for new service connections, design and staking NESC and GO95/128 compliant projects, coordinating project construction with field staff, and securing right-of-way through easements, and permits. Staking Engineer will be responsible for end to end management of project completion including site inspections for code and policy compliance. Staking Engineer will be required to work with corporate engineering software, mapping, and work order systems. Other responsibilities include site meetings, material management, and purchasing. An applicant with experience in Construction, GIS/CAD systems, and Land Survey is desirable. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Staking Engineer will be expected to keep close watch on inventory levels and ensure material purchases are meeting the appropriate level of construction project demand. Coordination with operational staff will be necessary to meet this requirement.

Applicant will be required to have excellent time management and organizational skills to facilitate the successful completion of construction projects on-time and within budget.

The position requires excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Other desired skills include the ability to interpret maps, blueprints and engineering drawings. Candidate will be required to interact and coordinate with many individuals and departments including, but not limited to, Operations, Sales, Field staff, Accounting, Customers, and Contractors. This position will report directly to the Electric North District Manager; as required the employee will have an equal level of commitment and performance to both the electric and telecommunication division projects.
