Program: Head Start (Hamilton Preschool – Side B)
Salary: $143.25 to $154.80
Work Year: 40 Hours per week: 11 months, 179 paid days
Deadline: May 24, 2022 by 5:00 pm
Qualifications:
- Associate Arts degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with the understanding that you must be enrolled in a program leading to a Bachelor’s Degree in order to fully qualify for the position.
- Hold or qualify for a Teacher Permit; to include 24 units of ECE/CD courses, plus 16 General Education units.
- One year of adult supervisory experience in a childcare and/or preschool setting.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10-30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Valid California driver license and insured reliable transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the supervision of three and four-year-old preschool children.
- Responsible for the daily classroom preparation and clean up.
- Assist and guide parent/community volunteers in the center.
- Implement Creative Curriculum for Preschool as identified.
- Responsible for observations and documentation of Child Outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with Title 22, Community Care Licensing for a childcare facility and policies and procedures as applicable.
- Conduct home visits and parent conferences with each family assigned during the school year, as per model design.
- Insure a safe and healthy environment for preschool children.
- Support parent engagement at all levels of the department.
- Participate in all family activities and parent committee/workshops and meetings, as scheduled.
- Maintain accurate documentation as assigned.
- Appropriately redirect children’s behaviors when needed.
- Step into the role of the Teacher/Director in his/her absence.
