Requirements / Qualifications

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
*Children’s Center Permit or Child Development Teacher Permit or appropriate Elementary Teaching Credential with 12 units of Early Childhood Education.
*Associates Degree or 60 units with 24 Early Childhood Education units plus six units in Administration and 2 units Adult Learning
*Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency.

Provide high quality instruction, care and assistance to children, infants to school-age, in a classroom or other learning environment; coordinate instructional assistants and volunteers, instructional activities and resources to meet the needs of students; train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel in compliance with state and federal laws, local and organizational policies, procedures and guidelines.
*A full-day preschool site includes two 8 hour teachers (Teacher A and Teacher B).  Each teacher is responsible to fulfill the requirements of the teaching position,
for their assigned classroom.
Classroom/Teacher A- one group of students attend part-day (3 hours)
Classroom/Teacher B- one group of students attend full-day (6.5 hours)
Once Classroom A has ended and students have been picked-up, Classroom A teacher will take a lunch break.
After Classroom A teacher’s lunch break, the students from Classroom B will transition to Classroom A for rest-time.
During rest-time, Classroom B teacher will step off the floor for a lunch break and prep time, while Classroom A teacher supervises rest-time.
Classroom B teacher will return after rest-time and Classroom A teacher will step off the floor for prep time.
*Depending upon the instructional assistants hours at each site, this process may vary.  The expectation is that each teacher will have prep time off the floor in
order to complete the necessary paperwork. A teacher may request additional support or resources if needed.
