Overview

Ultrasonographer: Full time, benefited position available. We are willing to consider a schedule of four, ten hour shifts a week, must be willing to take call as scheduled weekly. We are seeking a candidate who understands and performs the duties of an Ultrasonographer; ability to perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities including masses, abscesses, and stones. Assist physicians with biopsy procedures, guiding biopsy instrument using sonographic techniques; perform ultrasound procedures, color Doppler vascular examinations, abdominal studies and color flow ultrasound, Ob-Gyn procedures as required and/or echocardiogram; utilize accessory equipment such as transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, etc.; prepare patients for procedures and explain procedures to patients. Report changes in patient condition to medical staff. Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist, as requested. Evaluate quality of sonograms. Determine if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicated. Qualifications are as follows:  A two year Allied Health degree and successful completion of an AMA approved and/or a accredited School of Ultrasound Technology and/or Cardiovascular Technology. Experience in an Acute Care setting is preferred; Experience in a freestanding diagnostic imaging facility may be substituted for Acute Care experience; Must obtain RDMS certification in physics and one specialty with 12 months of employment; RDMS certification in physics and two specialty areas (abdomen, vascular or Ob-Gyn) and/or Certified Cardiovascular Technologist. BLS Certification required
