The duties and responsibilities of the waiter/waitress include welcoming and seating guests, taking guest orders, communicating the orders to the kitchen and in addition, memorizing the menu and offering recommendations to upsell appetizers, desserts and/or drinks.  Responsible for entering all payments into the POS system.  Maintain the premises in a neat and orderly manner.  Maintains dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude.


  1. The position is hourly (non-exempt).
  2. The Work is seasonal.
  3. The Waiter/Waitress reports to the Restaurant Working Manager


  1. Ability to provide a positive image and have exceptional work characteristics.
  2. Provide excellent customer service.
  3. Ability to work with others.
  4. Ability to work well under pressure.
  5. Be thorough and detail oriented.
  6. Have and maintain a Serve Safe Certificate.
  7. Ability to legally serve alcoholic beverages.
  8. Ability to operate cash register and follow cash procedures.
  9. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  10. Pass a background check, physical and drug test.
  11. Have a valid driver’s license.

Duties to consist of but not limited to:

  1. Seat and provide guests with an excellent dining experience by initiating conversation for customer confidence, asking questions about preferences and describing specials as additional options.  Take and communicate orders to the back of the house.
  2. Answer telephones and enter orders into POS system.
  3. Operate POS terminal to process customers’ orders, swipe credit cards, and enter cash amounts.
  4. Prepare and/or prep items such as salads as asked by the Working Manager/Chef.
  5. Keep and maintain the premises in a neat and orderly appearance.  This includes cleaning of restrooms, dining room, windows and front counter.
  6. Alert Manager when running low on supply of food items, change, laundry and cleaning supplies.
  7. Assure that the cash register is balanced daily.
  8. Keep equipment and facilities in a good order and in sanitary condition in accordance with applicable health codes.
  9. Follow maintenance and sanitation checklist to be used for inspections.
  10. Alert Working Manager of specific/potential problems.
  11. Ability to work hours scheduled.  Ability to complete the season.
  12. Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Restaurant Manager.
