Overview

Definition:
Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Warehouse Manager orders, receives
inventories, warehouses, and issues equipment, supplies, food items, furniture, fixtures, and textbooks;
operates a forklift and/or truck to move and deliver items as directed; performs related physical work.

Essential Functions:
(Duties include but are not limited to the following):
• Assist with the planning of menus as it relates to vendors and inventory.
• Develops specification for and orders food, related supplies and equipment.
• Orders USDA donated food when available and assures its proper use in accordance with regulations.
• Works with vendors regarding products and services.
• Load and unload delivery trucks.
• Drive a truck and/or forklift to pick up, move, and deliver supplies, food, equipment and mail to various
District locations.
• Receive and inspect supplies and equipment; report shortages, damage and other discrepancies.
• Place stock in proper warehouse storage areas.
• Perform a physical inventory of stock on hand.
• Prepare, institute, and maintain a computerized inventory system for movable assets worth $500 or
more.
• Prepare and maintain shipping/receiving/inventory records and reports.
• Relocate teacher(s) materials and classroom equipment to new classrooms or sites.
• Lift and move heavy and/or bulky objects.
• Maintain storeroom and vehicles in a clean and orderly condition.
• Inspect and report the operating condition of assigned vehicles on a daily basis.
• Participate in the auction process.
• Prepare bids for price quotations for the annual custodial supplies bid.
• Maintain needed custodial supplies and issue as requisitioned.
• Serve as Hazard Communication Program Coordinator (maintains and distributes appropriate MSDS
and other relevant safety materials related to warehouse inventory.)
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of:
• Interpersonal relationship skills using patience, courtesy and tact.
• Basic warehouse storage, inventory and delivery methods.
• Computer software programs, including database management and inventory control.
• Safe operation of a forklift and/or delivery truck.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Record-keeping techniques.
• Safe lifting techniques.

Ability to:
• Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
• Safely operate a forklift and delivery truck.
• Prepare and maintain complete and accurate records, including shipping, receiving and inventory
records.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Follow oral and written directions.
• Safely move and lift bulky or heavy objects.

Working Conditions:
Warehouse environment. Exposure to diesel exhaust. Driving a delivery truck.

License/Certification Required:
• Certification as a forklift operator.
• Valid California Class “C” driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:
• Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person and on the telephone.
• Seeing to inventory stock, read, prepare and proofread documents; to travel to various sites, and to
operate a forklift and delivery truck.
• Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
• Dexterity of arms, hands and fingers to lift and move warehouse stock; to operate a vehicle, and to
complete reports.
• Kneeling, stooping, bending at the waist and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally
to load, unload, retrieve, relocate and store supplies.
• Lifting heavy objects.

Education and Experience:
Any combination of training, education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.
