Job Description:
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely drives company Cargo Van to pick up donations and to deliver purchased furniture from the Gift & Thrift stores. Receives merchandise at Gift & Thrift (G&T) locations and donor’s residences. Moves merchandise in company Cargo Van between all G&T. Processes donated goods in warehouse setting

Job Details and Essential Functions:
- Safely drives company Cargo Van to pick up donations and to deliver purchased furniture from the Gift & Thrift stores
- Greets customers, receives donated goods, unloads and loads heavy items, presorts goods, and provides written receipt upon request
- Inspects donated items for proper operating condition; performs minor cleaning and repairs
- Pre-sorts, prices and prepares merchandise for delivery
- Maintains cleanliness of receiving areas, donation center and HOF Vehicle
- Observes all safety procedures requirements
- Recommends merchandise transfers between locations to encourage increased sales
- Assists Store Managers with display builds, merchandising and product placement
- Attends all safety meetings and training sessions as required
- Trains volunteers in receiving area and safety procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Familiarity with concept of retail principles and strategy including merchandising and product placement
- Ability to work as a member of a team to develop and maintain positive working relationships
- Strong Customer Service
- Basic computer skills in: MS Office (Outlook, MS Word, Excel)
Education & Experience Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Clean DMV Report
- One-year experience in retail and/or warehouse receiving
Desired:
- One-year experience in a donation center/ thrift store receiving
- Previous experience as a driver in a household moving company
License / Certifications Required:
- Possess and maintain valid California driver’s license, and evidence of appropriate liability insurance
